Battle Princess Madelyn is exactly what you get when a game programmer has a kid and loves her so much he puts her in a game. It started as a Kickstarter job, which then quickly met its funding goals, and is set to release February 2018. Today we got a slew of new screenshots.

Chris Obritsch of Casual Bit Games is a game developer with a young daughter named Madelyn, and being such a great father, he placed her in her own game.   A thick inspiration out of Ghouls and Ghosts may be viewed instantly, with a very similar running and leaping animation, but rather than Arthur, the protagonist is a eldest young woman called Madelyn.

From the trailer seen here, her armor changes depending on the degrees and equipment available. Different armor appears to have different moves connected with it. According to Obritsch, the game will fluctuate from Ghouls and Ghosts in that players may go back to previous levels to discover hidden secrets. In that way, it feels like Shovel Knight where the initial idea is inspired by classics, but enlarged upon with 21st-century thoughts.

Other stretch goals reached contain a PS Vita port, a soundtrack, and a plushie of Madelyn. Check out the screenshots below:
