Hi-Rez Expo 2018 has become a hot-bed for both SMITE and Paladins: Champions of the Realm news, and that continues into the final day of the event. In a brand-new video released earlier today, programmer Hi-Rez Studios delves further into the background and characters in a sense untouched in the series before.

From the video (viewed below) we hear a lot more about the actual origin story that rests in the background of Paladins: Champions of the Realm. The story tells one of a bunch of heroes that brought about a golden age after decades of strife, dragons, and village-burning. Known as the “Paladins,” that the band would disband after peace took hold of the world.

But that peace altered quickly with the discovering of crystals which brought a new era of electricity to be harnassed, utilized, and mistreated in the wrong hands. Crystal use were banished to create stability among the realm… but not everybody was on board. A number of those Paladins watched this as a way for the authorities to keep hold of their power and urged a revolution which would bring the crystal clear into those people.

This lore is something that fans have been speculating for a while — many discovered that the look of the blue crystals in some   Paladins personalities but not others. But this establishment of a lore and backdrop to the class-based shot’s universe was anticipated, together with both Hi-Rez Studios COO Todd Horris and CEO Erez Goren making encouraging statements to DualShockers earlier this week.

Paladins: Champions of the Realm are the talk about Hi-Rez Expo 2018, thanks to the reveal of a new character and mode, the unveiling of Paladins: Battlegrounds, and the statements Hi-Rez’s President Stew Chisam is made about using the expression “Battlegrounds. ” Obviously, it’s also advisable to have a look at the ideal cosplay for the game found at Hi-Rez Expo 2018.
