Throughout Activision Blizzard’s fourth quarter financial conference call, the publisher confirmed the programmer for the upcoming Call of Duty game.

As stated by the firm’s prepared remarks, the next phase of this saga coming this year (at Q4, which means between October and December as normal)) will be made by Treyarch, that’s the studio behind the Black Ops series. We also heard that Activision “can’t wait to discuss throughout conference calls.

The latest Call of Duty game developed by Treyarch was   Call of Duty: Black Ops III in 2015. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you’ll be able to enjoy our review. It wasn’t ideal, but it was good.

This means that Activision is sticking with the three-year development cycle that sees Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, along with Treyarch alternating in the helm of their  Call of Duty franchise.
