PC, PS4, Xbox One

Many don’t expect voice actors to be really good at games, but Kaito Ishikawa just proved that he’s no slouch about  Bandai Namco‘s barbarous  Souls-like action JRPG Code Vein.

Ishikawa-san voices Louis, among the game’s partners that accompanies the playable hero. He is also known for many other   roles such as  Fidel Camuze in   Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness, Nero in   Devil May Cry 4,  and   Logix Fiscario at  Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky.

Starting at twenty deaths, the actor pledged to get involved in a “punishment game” where he’d need to receive increasing penalties based on the number of demises.

Yet he had to get none, as he expired only eleven days before he finally managed to defeat the boss. Taking into consideration the level of struggle, that’s impressive. The same boss literally humiliated me when I tried the game in September (even if I didn’t have even close to eleven attempts), while Azario managed to avenge me in January, not without significant effort.

Code Vein will probably be released in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
