PS4

For all those informed from the present pop culture arena, two weeks ago the long-awaited   God of War finally found on PS4, although the equally-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War hit theatres last weekend to get amazing results. Surprisingly, both long-awaited pop culture icons are coming together as a result of Santa Monica Studio, in an incredible way.

Over on the God of War subreddit (via Mashable), players from the game have discovered that Santa Monica Studio appeared to conceal an elaborate and incredibly well-timed Easter egg to  Avengers: Infinity War within the game, given the week apart that split the game from the film’s release.

The post (from Reddit consumer “moxxxxxi”) details which  the Easter egg itself is directly tied into a epic Talisman known as “the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages,” which — when upgraded all the way — could be outfitted with a particular collection of Enchantments that happens to mirror a particular pair of colorful gem stones from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Infinity Stones.

The Enchantments and their names can be found under — along with the description for the Shattered Gauntlet of all Ages — along with their obvious equivalent in the MCU:

  • Andvari’s Spirit – Soul Stone

  • Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind – Mind Stone

  • Asgard’s Shard of Existence – Reality Stone

“An ancient relic of Hel deemed too strong to Stay whole lie sprinkled throughout the realms…

Effectively, this Talisman gives Kratos his own version of the Infinity Gauntlet out of  Avengers: Infinity War, since the Talisman lets players take solid purple laser beams from their fist, much like the super-powered Mad Titan himself, Thanos. You’ll be able to have a look at a video of the fully-powered gauntlet here, and while the 1 defect is that the God of War version of this gauntlet can just hold three Enchantments as opposed to the six Infinity Stones which Thanos wields in the Infinity Gauntlet, the God of War version of it still seems pretty powerful yet.

Given some of the similarities between God of War has into the MCU (such as Kratos’ quite Thor-esque powers together with the Leviathan Axe) along with also their shared relations into Norse mythology, the Easter egg itself functions as a wonderfully bright and enjoyable reference to this film that is presently dominating the hearts and heads of comic book fans everywhere.

God of War is available now only for PS4. In case you have yet to find out the game you can do that right now on Amazon, or you may read our inspection.
