PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One

Or, it was designed to.

Recently, developer Saber Interactive declared that the arcade basketball sequel was delayed from its previous May 22 release date and is presently pushed to an indefinite date. After being announced under a month ago, it appeared as though the turnaround from reveal to release was nearly too good to be true. Turns out it had been.

“We’ve got some news to talk about, but we want to start with saying ‘good things come to people who wait’ There are exciting things brewing with the NBA Playgrounds franchise that we believe can take arcade basketball to new degrees. We can not tell you what today, but we could tell you this implies our launch date of May 22nd will soon be transferred. Please be patient, we promise that NBA Playgrounds 2 will be better than ever. We will have more details to share shortly. ”

It’s somewhat odd to observe a change delay such as this take place under a week until the release of almost any game but the best we can do is hope Saber Interactive and believe that this delay is indeed a fantastic thing for your franchise moving ahead. We’ll keep you posted once we next hear word on which this fascinating thing is that Saber has teased.
