PC, PS4, Xbox One

Fans were shocked when they heard last month that the forthcoming growth Destiny 2: Expansion will kick off with the death of the beloved character Cayde-6. This shadowy note kickstarts the occasions of Forsaken and can lead players a path of vengeance.

In a new video, members of the team at Bungie and High Moon Studios talk about the narrative of Destiny 2: Forsaken and the reason why they opted to go a darker path with the story this time. Eric Osborne, the Head of Community, states that initially the passing of Cayde-6 seems as though it’s been completed for shock value as instead it will help to further flesh out the game world and makes it richer.

Other members of Bungie also comment that the stakes of Destiny 2: Forsaken are much lower than usual. Rather than having to save the entire universe, Forsaken is an exclusive narrative that is more about avenging your fallen comrade. Although the battle isn’t on as large of a scale, though, you as the player feel just as dedicated to seeing through your job.

You can find the full video containing devs from Bungie talking the story from Forsaken at the base of the page. Presently, you are able to pre-order Destiny 2: Forsaken on Amazon to Get Ready for its arrival on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4.
