Following several teases a week from celebrity Nathan Fillion concerning the Uncharted series, now we saw the result of being a brilliantly-made enthusiast film starring Fillion since the series’ protagonist Nathan Drake, and new details have arrived from Fillion on how it happened, along with what’s in store for him along with his fan preferred Destiny 2 character, Cayde-6.

Speaking in a meeting on Kotaku‘s Splitscreen podcast, Nathan Fillion shared more details about his involvement with the recently-released Uncharted enthusiast film in which he played the starring role of Nathan Draketogether with the unofficial movie with already attained over 450,000 views because its debut this early on YouTube.

Especially, Fillion shared that the path to creating the short film started with a meeting with all the film’s producer, Alex Lebovici, many years ago who then eventually introduced Fillion to its director, Allan Ungar. Ungar revealed himself as a “passionate” enthusiast of Uncharted based on Fillion, and after meeting Ungar before this season, the group gathered in May to take and produce the 14-minute short movie.

Especially, the fan movie was not created in any type of official capacity using Sony or Naughty Dog, as a Uncharted film adaptation has been under various types of development for quite a while. Fillion expressed that he has had no involvement with the production or development of Sony’s feature film, which will reportedly star Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Tom Holland as a youthful Nathan Drake at the most recent developments on the movie.

However, Fillion explained during the meeting while previous efforts at an Uncharted feature film have been ongoing for nearly a decade, finally he, Ungar, and the rest of the short movie ’s innovative team “desired to scratch an itch” at bringing Uncharted into the big screen (in some fashion), since Fillion has been a popular option among fans for some opportunity to play with Nathan Drake.

Together with the fan film having finally been published, he stated that “our aim has been achieved” and that “if something stems from this, that’s just icing on the cake,” up to if developments on the actual feature film proceed further. Fillion said jokingly that “if Sony would like to make a movie and they need me to be in it, they understand my number and they’re able to give me a ring,” but also added that he’s “super duper excited to see what Sony has in store” for your Uncharted movie and watching what becomes of it.

Alongside talking about the Uncharted lover movie, Fillion also detailed a bit more about Destiny 2: Forsaken, given the surprise revelation that his long-running Destiny series character, Cayde-6, was murdered during the reveal trailer for the expansion at E3 2018. As far as the personality himself belongs, Fillion affirmed that he did not play Cayde-6 because he was “inaccessible ” to play the role at the trailer; rather, it had been disclosed that Cayde-6 is played by Nolan North at the upcoming expansion.

This falls in line with the way Bungie has made it crystal clear Cayde-6 is truly dead in the upcoming growth , though interestingly Fillion doesn’t even believe that the character could possibly be dead. However, Fillion simply stated that he “absolutely [loves]” the character, and now we now ’ll have to wait until September when Destiny 2: Forsaken releases to see what really goes ahead for the destiny of Cayde-6.
